WASHINGTON — The new voice of the White House came ready with the receipts. In her first briefing as Press Secretary on Tuesday, Katie Zacharia thanked President Donald J. Trump for his trust — “I have wanted to work for him for a very long time” — and then walked the Brady Briefing Room through a Golden Age scoreboard the legacy media rarely reads out loud.
Real wages are up 1.2% since President Trump took office, with average annual earnings outpacing inflation by $800, after falling nearly 4% under Biden. The President delivered the biggest drop in prescription drug prices in 63 years and more than 1 million private-sector jobs in his second term, including nearly 112,000 factory construction jobs and 72,000 manufacturing jobs this year alone. Trillions in new investment are pouring in — $1.4 trillion from the United Arab Emirates, $600 billion from Apple, $340 billion from Amazon — along with the $15 billion Iowa steel complex and the Arsenal-2 shipyard in Maryland.
She kept going: more than $260 billion in fraud uncovered and $58.9 billion recovered; a lasting U.S. security agreement on Greenland; tariffs used to stop Chinese fentanyl precursors, with fentanyl trafficking across the southern border down 56% and fentanyl-linked deaths down 22% in a single year. And for independent new media voices, a promise: “We are absolutely going to keep” the New Media Seat, “and we’re going to expand on it to the extent possible.”
A mother of four, Zacharia called President Trump “the most family-friendly President we’ve ever had,” then wrapped the briefing so the President could take questions on his way to Alaska. His review on the South Lawn: “I thought she was very good.” Watch the full White House briefing.
