CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — President Donald J. Trump flew into Fort Campbell on Air Force One on Saturday, and before the day was done he put the home of the Screaming Eagles at the center of one of his proudest wins: the southern border. “We inherited the worst border. This is what happened,” the President told the F&M Bank Arena crowd. “We inherited the worst border in American history. We turned it into the strongest and most secure border in the history of our country by far.”
The contrast could not be sharper. Under the last administration, the President said, “They allowed 25 million people.” Under his leadership: “In the past 17 months, zero illegal aliens have been admitted into the United States of America through our Southern border.” “I can’t even believe it’s real because it’s too crazy,” he said, calling out to Sen. Marsha Blackburn: “Right, Marsha?”
Then the President brought it home to the soldiers down the road. “We mobilize soldiers. Our soldiers are so great,” he said, “to the Southern border, from nearby, perhaps you’ve heard of it, Fort Campbell, the proud home of the legendary 101st Airborne Division.” The crowd cheered, and the President smiled: “Well, I guess you have heard of Fort Campbell.” Clarksville is a military town through and through, and it knows the difference between a commander in chief who sends troops to defend America’s own border and politicians who threw it open.
The border win is part of a full America First public-safety record the President carried into Tennessee. The White House reports that the administration is removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from Tennessee communities, from Nashville and Murfreesboro to Hartsville and Maryville, while the Memphis Safe Task Force has driven murders in Memphis down 36%.
With early voting in Tennessee beginning Wednesday, October 14, and Election Day on November 3, the President asked Patriots to protect the progress by sending Blackburn, Sen. Bill Hagerty and a Republican Congress back to work. Secure borders, strong soldiers, safe streets: that is the Golden Age. Watch the Official White House video.
