SAN ANTONIO — President Donald J. Trump is on his way back to the Lone Star State, and he is not backing off his man for the Senate one inch. Asked at the White House on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, whether he had any regrets about endorsing Attorney General Ken Paxton, the President did not hesitate. “No, no, no. Not at all. He was a great attorney general. I think he’ll be a great senator,” he said. “Ken Paxton was the best, or certainly one of the few best, but the best attorney general in the whole country. And no, I would have no regrets at all.”

Tonight he takes that message to the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, where he is set to speak at about 6:00 PM Central at a Midterm Rally for Paxton, who faces Democrat James Talarico, and for Carlos De La Cruz in the 35th District. As the President departed, the White House released the receipts. Under the Working Families Tax Cuts, about one in four Texas workers no longer pay federal income tax on qualifying overtime, about four million Texas seniors benefit from the new senior deduction, and Texas taxpayers saw average refunds of $4,344, the second-highest in the nation. The law safeguarded 547,000 Texas jobs and $51 billion in workers’ wages.

Texas streets are safer, too. Violent crime in the state fell 13% last year, including a 13% drop in murder and an 11% drop in rape, and Arlington homicides fell 60% in the first half of 2026. At the border, the Trump Administration has not released a single illegal alien for 16 straight months, and August apprehensions were 94% lower than the monthly average under Joe Biden. The Working Families Tax Cuts put $46.5 billion toward finishing the wall, and Texas will soon receive $7.5 billion to recover what it spent cleaning up Biden’s border crisis.

The President is also delivering for the farms and ranches of Texas. Mexico has committed to deliver 350,000 acre-feet of Rio Grande water a year under the 1944 treaty, a new $750 million sterile-fly facility broke ground at Moore Air Base in Edinburg to fight screwworm, and more than 33,000 Texas farmers have received $827 million in emergency commodity assistance. Meanwhile, the money is flooding in: Toyota is investing $3.6 billion in San Antonio to build the new Tacoma here instead of Mexico, creating 2,000 jobs; SpaceX announced $16.8 billion for a chip plant in Grimes County; Saronic is building a $3.2 billion shipyard in Brownsville; and America First Refining and Reliance are opening the first new U.S. oil refinery in nearly half a century.

That is the record President Trump brings to San Antonio tonight, his second trip to Texas in a week after his Peterbilt plant visit in Denton.
