WASHINGTON — President Donald J. Trump just put fraudsters on notice in an Official White House video posted October 3, 2026: steal from Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security, and prison — not probation — is the America First answer. The release, titled “Minimum Sentences on Fraudsters,” is the primary document for this drop. No invented sentencing ranges. No cable spin. Just the President’s words and the Golden Age standard.

“Today, I’m calling on Congress to pass legislation to address fraud in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security programs,” Trump said. The first pillar: mandatory minimum sentences for people who steal from federal benefit programs, with probation off the table. “If you steal from the American people, you will go to prison and for a long period of time,” he said. “And the more you steal, the longer you’ll stay in that prison.”

Repeat offenders get the doubled hammer. “If you’re a convicted fraudster who gets caught stealing from the American people a second time, your sentence will be doubled,” Trump said. The second pillar aims at look-the-other-way politicians: under the proposal, if a state or local official knows about fraud, has the ability to stop it, and does nothing, they can be personally liable for the full taxpayer loss they should have stopped and saved.

This is law and order with a balance sheet. The administration has already been escalating enforcement — including major Justice Department health-care fraud takedowns and Social Security fraud charging packages cited in wrap coverage of the video. Trump’s Saturday ask turns that enforcement tempo into a legislative demand: deter the thief, punish the repeat player, and end the culture of officials who shrug while Patriots’ benefits get looted.

He closed the Official White House message the way America First voters want it closed: “This legislative proposal will make fraudsters think long and hard before they keep stealing from the American people… So from now on, fraudsters, we’re watching you.” Watch the full Oct. 3 WH video.
