President Trump told Greenville exactly what he promised and what he delivered. “Just think of what we’ve accomplished in less than two years,” he said at Tuesday night’s rally. “We inherited the worst border in American history. We turned it into the strongest and most secure border in the history of our country.”

“In the past 17 months, zero illegal aliens have been admitted to the United States of America,” the President said, and the crowd roared. He admitted even he finds the number stunning. “I almost wish it were like 119 or 57 or even 912,” he joked. “It’s hard to believe zero. 25 million people came in and now we say zero. … Who could think it’s even possible? But that’s what it is. It’s zero.”

He pointed out that the numbers come from career officials, not campaign spin. “These are people that would love to put some score on the board, but they’re honest about it,” Trump said. The White House reports 17 straight months of zero releases at the border, zero Border Patrol releases in fiscal 2026, the first fiscal year in U.S. history with that result, and illegal southern border crossings down 95% from Biden-era levels.

Then the President turned to the man in the crowd who helped make it happen. “We’re joined tonight by the president of the National Border Patrol Council, Paul Perez,” he said. “I watched you speak before, Paul, and you were great. He’s an incredible leader. He’s a hero, actually.”

“And I want to thank you and the Border Patrol and ICE and all of these guys that do such a great job,” Trump said. After four years of chaos, the border is closed, the agents have a Commander in Chief who backs them, and the President made sure North Carolina knows who to thank.
