WASHINGTON — Help is on the way for the Patriots who feed America. Leaving the White House on Monday, October 5, 2026, for tonight’s Midterm Rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, President Donald J. Trump was asked whether he will aid farmers by easing the limits on tax-exempt red-dyed diesel. His answer was direct: “Yeah, I’ll be helping them with diesel.” Then he added, “We are doing a lot for the farmers. We’ve given them a lot and we help them a lot. And the farmers are with me all the way.”

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins confirmed the plan on Monday, writing that the President “is taking action to deliver short-term relief for farmers and ranchers, including prioritizing diesel in the release of 100 million barrels of crude oil.” She also told Fox Business that the President would announce relief for farmers later in the day.

Here is what is coming. According to three people familiar with the plans who spoke with Politico, the executive actions the President will tout in Nebraska include a Treasury Department review of certain diesel taxes, an order directing states to make more tax-exempt red-dyed diesel available for farming, construction, and other industries, a call for states to waive certain fuel taxes, and non-enforcement of dyed-diesel limitations. Reuters reports the order will likely direct the Department of Transportation to coordinate with states on waiving taxes on road diesel. Dyed diesel is exempt from federal and state excise taxes, so loosening those limits puts real money back in the pockets of the families bringing in this year’s harvest.

It builds on wins already on the board. Last week, G7 nations announced they would release 100 million barrels of diesel after pressure from President Trump. Republican-led states are already moving, too: Rollins has pointed to temporary relief in Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Louisiana, and Alabama, from diesel-tax suspensions to expanded use of red-dyed diesel. And on Monday the President named the real problem on Truth Social: “What’s driving up Gasoline is no longer the Strait of Hormuz, because Record Numbers of Barrels are coming out now on an almost daily basis, but the word, ‘Refineries,’ where Russia’s are being blown up by Ukraine, and where ours are being closed up, in Blue States, like California, by the Dumocrats.”

Tonight he takes that message to the heartland. The President speaks at 6:00 p.m. Central at the Pinnacle Bank Expo Center on the Fonner Park campus in Grand Island.
