WASHINGTON — One country counted 125 million votes in a single night. Late Sunday, October 4, 2026, President Donald J. Trump put the contrast in front of every American. “125 Million People voted today in the first round of Brazil’s Presidential Election. The results came out shortly after the vote closed, on the SAME DAY!” the President wrote on Truth Social. “In Detroit, Philadelphia, California, and numerous other U.S. Cities and States, the results, with much smaller numbers, will often take weeks to Rig, I mean, calculate. Voting in America is CORRUPT!!!”

The facts back up the comparison. Brazil votes on a fully electronic system and releases results shortly after the polls close, Newsweek reports. Sunday’s first round sends Brazil to an October 25 runoff between incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro, an ally of President Trump. Here at home, as the President noted in July, California’s June 2 primary was not fully completed until July 10. “Took a month to count the votes,” he said. “I wonder what they were doing.”

The President has laid out the fix plainly. In his July 16, 2026 Address to the Nation on election security, he declared, “No country can be great without fair and honest elections. … No trust, no greatness.” He called on Congress to pass the SAVE America Act: “This landmark bill requires that all voters must show photo voter ID. … All voters must provide proof of citizenship.” He asked every American to call their representatives and “demand that they pass the Save America Act without delay.”

Senate Democrats keep standing in the way. On September 30, a Republican bill carrying the SAVE Act’s voter ID requirement failed 53–47 on a party-line vote, short of the 60 votes needed to advance, according to Sen. Alex Padilla’s own office, which led the opposition. Republicans are for photo ID and proof of citizenship. Democrats keep voting no.

With 29 days to go until November 3, the choice could not be clearer. Patriots want elections that are fast, transparent, and secure, with every legal vote counted and every result trusted.
