The Trump administration is putting American farmers first. Speaking in Nebraska on Thursday, Vice President JD Vance announced a major investment in the heartland. “I am proud to announce $1.3 billion of investment in domestic fertilizer manufacturing right here in the state of Nebraska,” Vance said.
The Vice President said one of the two companies receiving funding, Talus Ag, “is opening two manufacturing facilities right here in Nebraska.”
“What this means, not just for Nebraska, but for the entire country, is that 32,000 farmers, who are farming over 4 million acres all across the United States of America, they’re going to have fertilizer at a lower cost and made by American hands right here in the United States of America,” Vance said.
The White House framed the day as part of a larger mission: “Fighting for Rural America. Putting our Farmers & Ranchers FIRST.” Making fertilizer at home cuts costs for growers and ends dependence on foreign suppliers for a product every farm needs.
The event also showed the Vice President’s heart. When a woman in the audience suffered a medical episode, Vance paused and led the crowd in the Lord’s Prayer while first responders helped her, then left the stage and walked into the stands to check on her.
