WASHINGTON — Lock the clock. On Saturday, October 3, 2026, President Donald J. Trump used Truth Social to put the full Golden Age spotlight on the Sunshine Protection Act — the bill that would make daylight saving time permanent and end the twice-a-year clock shuffle Patriots have hated for decades.
The House already did its job. On July 14, 2026, H.R. 139 passed 308–117 — a bipartisan America First win that should have sailed. The Senate has not taken it up. Trump’s Saturday message named Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton as the holdup, calling the measure a “very important Bill” that “should pass overwhelmingly, in a Bipartisan fashion.” The Patriot Oasis will not reprint any personal cellphone numbers. Patriots can contact their senators through official Senate channels and demand a floor vote.
Trump’s Friday Truth Social frame set the stakes: changing clocks twice a year “costs our Country a fortune,” and it is “bad for Crime, stress on people, Sports, and just about everything else you can imagine.” That is not boutique policy. That is working families, evening daylight after a shift, kids’ practices, hunters, farmers moving between barns and fields, and safer nights when the sun stays up.
Even the PGA Tour’s Brian Rolapp has been cited by the President as needing the Sunshine Protection Act for golf-tour completions — more daylight, fewer absurd clock gymnastics. Cotton’s office points to 1970s history and dark winter mornings as reasons to keep the flip. Trump’s answer is the America First answer: stop holding up a bipartisan House bill Patriots already won in the lower chamber.
Since the 2024 election, Trump has treated ending the clock chaos as agenda material. The Sunshine Protection Act is the vehicle. House Republicans and Democrats already locked arms 308–117. One Senate holdout should not dictate whether Arkansas farms, Ohio factories, and Florida fairways get permanent evening light.
Watch the Official White House departure tape while Oval galleries refresh, and remember the ask: Senate LOCK THE CLOCK. Pass the Sunshine Protection Act. Give Patriots the daylight they already voted for in the House — and stop making America run around the house twice a year changing every clock on the wall.
