WASHINGTON — Border success should show up in the budget. That is the America First logic behind President Donald J. Trump’s pocket rescission package — about $810 million in congressionally approved spending the White House moved to cancel near the end of the fiscal year, with Roll Call and Fox still covering the fight on Monday, September 28.

The lion’s share — roughly $567 million — targets Health and Human Services Refugee and Entrant Assistance funding that underwrites Office of Refugee Resettlement programs and NGO pipelines for refugees, asylees, and other noncitizens. The administration’s case is straightforward: fewer illegal crossings mean less need to keep flooding those accounts. Secure the border, then stop writing blank checks.

The rest of the package continues the Americans First cleanup. About $25 million hits Education Department migrant-student programs the White House associated with ideological junkets. Roughly $70 million cuts so-called woke international education grants that bring foreign students and faculty here on the American taxpayer’s dime. Another ~$28 million trims health research the administration called wasteful or duplicative, and ~$56 million hits HUD counseling programs the White House said wrongly focused on DEI theater instead of results for American families.

The White House hailed the move as “historic action to eliminate wasteful and harmful spending.” OMB Director Russ Vought has defended the timing and authority of end-of-year rescissions. Critics in Congress — including some who never fought this hard for American workers — scream about process. Patriots should keep their eye on the substance: who gets the money, and why.

This is not both-sides budgeting. It is Golden Age prioritization. When Trump’s border agenda works, Washington should not keep funding the NGO industrial complex as if the crisis never ended. American citizens come first — in immigration enforcement and in the ledger.

Monday’s coverage proves the fight is live heading into the midterms. The Patriot Oasis scoreboard is simple: cancel waste, fund Americans, and refuse to apologize for putting citizens ahead of the refugee-resettlement bureaucracy.
