President Trump has a simple rule for the AI boom: the data centers pay their own way, and the neighbors come out ahead. “As the President of the United States, I have been watching Data Centers very closely, and have come to a very strong conclusion,” he wrote on Truth Social early Wednesday.
The rule starts with power. New and large data centers, “in some cases gigantic,” are “mandated by me to make their own electricity, and give or sell any excess back to the local community, or grid,” the President wrote. That keeps the power bill off working families. “In fact, there could be a substantial decrease,” he said, adding, “Other elements likewise!”
Then he told the companies how to win over a town. “If companies want to make their Data Centers popular, pay the community, and/or individuals within the community, a ‘dividend,’” Trump wrote. “I have watched the process closely, and Data Centers that were highly unpopular in a certain area, have become extremely popular when a financial deal is struck. MAKE DEALS, and get them built!!! GREAT FOR THE U.S.A.”
It is the same promise the President secured from the biggest names in tech at the White House Super Intelligence luncheon on Sept. 29. “They’re going to work with local communities for the data centers in particular, and they’re going to work to make the community happy,” Trump said that day. “It might be supplying education. It may be helping teachers along financially, helping people along financially.”
“The areas with data centers have become very rich,” the President said. “Their taxes have gone down, not up, and a lot of good things have happened.” America will build the future here at home, and under President Trump the towns that host it will share in the winnings.
